Description
The PASTA Net
Plain And Simple Talk Around
The PASTA Net is a relaxed, directed rag-chew style net built around conversation, not the clock. It is designed for operators who enjoy talking, listening, and connecting without pressure.
Net Control opens the net using NetLogger at netlogger.org to take check-ins and manage the rotation. Using NetLogger is optional, but it allows participants to see their place in the lineup. Once check-ins are complete, Net Control turns it over to the first station, and the conversation begins.
Each station takes a turn to talk about whatever is on their mind, then passes it along to the next check-in. During their turn, stations may also call another participant directly for short exchanges. When the end of the list is reached, Net Control calls for additional check-ins and starts the rotation again with any new stations.
There are no strict time limits. Stations may check in or out at any time. Two hours is suggested as a reasonable maximum, but the net may close earlier if activity slows. Net Control will call for final check-ins and final comments before closing.
The PASTA Net is a directed rag chew with a simple goal: easy conversation and good company on the air. The concept is inspired by the Rochester Talk Around Net on 3.972 MHz, adapted to create something familiar, friendly, and fun.
