Description
The Digital Education Net for Newbies (DENN) is a beginner friendly amateur radio net focused on learning digital modes in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Held weekly on the W3QV repeater, DENN introduces operators to practical digital tools such as FLDigi, FLMsg, FLAmp, SSTV, Packet, Vara, and other digital modes. We are constantly exploring, failing, and testing our equipment. Each session starts with a brief voice and/or digital check ins, followed by guided, on air digital activity with clear explanations along the way.
A Zoom visual back channel allows live screen sharing and demonstrations, making it easy to follow software setup and operating steps in real time.
DENN is designed for operators new to digital radio or anyone looking to build confidence with computer to radio operation. No prior digital experience is required.
